Our breed classifications

A registered pure-bred cat costs a lot to obtain, so people tend not to abandon them. Cats at Crash's Landing and Big Sid's Sanctuary were all abandoned or otherwise homeless. Thus, when we say a cat is some particular breed, we do so because the cat has characterics typical of a particular breed, but it might be clear that the cat is some sort of mixed-breed cat.

For example, the cat below was classified as Siamese, because of his coloring and body type, but the tabby markings make it clear that he is some sort of a Siamese mix.
